SSC JE 2020

SSC JE is conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for the recruitment of Junior Engineers (JEs) in various branches of Engineering including Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Quantity Surveying & Contracts. The exam is conducted to recruit candidates for Group-B (non-gazetted) posts in level-6 (Rs 35,400-1,12,400) of the pay matrix of the seventh Central Pay Commission. Posts that are likely to be filled up through SSC JE 2020 exam.

SSC JE paper-I exam dates 2020 have been revised again. The exam will now be held from October 27-30. Earlier, the exam was scheduled to be conducted from September 1-4. Prior to that, the exam was to held from March 30 to April 2, 2020.

Postponed
SSC JE paper-II was earlier scheduled to be held on June 21. However, the exam has been postponed due to Coronavirus. The revised dates for the exam will be announced soon.

SSC JE EXAM PATTERN - Paper-I

As SSC JE Paper-I is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) that contains objective-type Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs). There are three sections in the exam. The third section is further divided into three parts – Civil & Structural, Electrical, and Mechanical. Candidates have to attempt questions from anyone part only. The time duration for the Paper-I exam is two hours. The question paper is set in both English and Hindi languages.

NOTE: One mark is awarded for each correct answer in PAPER-I, but there will be negative marks for each incorrect marks i.e 0.25 marks will be deducted as penalty.

SSC JE EXAM PATTERN - Paper-II

SSC JE paper-II is a descriptive test conducted in offline mode as a pen-and-paper based test. Candidates have to attempt questions from anyone section – General Engineering (Civil & Structural), General Engineering (Electrical), and General Engineering (Mechanical). The questions are set in both English and Hindi languages. Candidates can attempt questions in any one language. The total duration of the PAPER-II exam is two hours.
