UPSC RECRUITMENT CSE 2020
UPSC is a central government organization authorized to conducts different examinations for engineering services, civil services, defense, and many more throughout the year across the country. The organization was formed on October 1, 1926, and controlled by the government of India. In this section, we will provide you the list of all the UPSC exams conducted in India by Union Public Service Commissions with all details such as eligibility criteria, exam process, etc. Still, if it contains any error please do let me know through the comments. List of Exams Conducted by UPSC Every Year
1. Civil Services Examination
The Civil Services Examinations is conducted by Union Public Service Examination nationwide for the recruitment of various Civil Services as follows:
- Indian Administrative Services(IAS)
- Indian Foreign Service(IFS)
- Indian Revenue Service(IRS)
- Indian Police Service(IPS)
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification | Candidate should be a graduate or Final year candidate in any Discipline from a recognized university can apply. |

UPSC RECRUITMENT – CSE Detailed Syllabus – PHASE-I (400 Marks)
PAPER-I GENERAL STUDIES (GS) Prelims Paper-I
- General Science
- General issues on Environmental Ecology, Biodiversity and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialisation.
- Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
- Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.
- Current events of national and international importance.
- Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
- History of India and Indian National Movement.
PAPER-II CIVIL SERVICES APTITUDE TEST (CSAT) Prelims Paper-II
- Comprehension
- Interpersonal skills including communication skills
- General mental ability
- Logical reasoning and analytical ability
- Decision-making and problem solving
- Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. – Class X level)
UPSC RECRUITMENT – CSE Detailed Syllabus – PHASE-II
(1750 Marks)
Candidates who successfully qualified the Phase-I paper are allowed to write the Phase-II IAS Main paper. The Main exam consists of 9 papers out of which 2 are qualifying papers consists of 300 Marks each.
The two qualifying papers are as follows:
- Any Indian Language
- English Language Paper
Structure of the English Language Paper
1) Essay Writing – 100 Marks
2) Reading comprehension – 60 Marks
3) Precis Writing – 60 Marks
4) Translation:
A) English to compulsory language (e.g. Hindi) – 20 marks
B) Compulsory language to English – 20 marks
5) Grammar and basic language usage – 40 marks
The rest 7 Papers can be written in any of the languages mentioned under the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution of India or in English.
